With the DENSION DBU3DSP you get a DAB+U interface of first class, which even offers the possibility to measure the signal-to-noise ratio according to the "engelschen method" and to display it comfortably in dB! With its convenient USB connection, this interface is the absolute top in mobile and stationary digital audio broadcasting.

What is the "Engelsche methode"?

With the DBU3DSP from DENSION you get a technical unit, consisting of the DENSION DAB+U as interface for your Digital-Audio-Broadcasting (DAB), as well as a measuring unit with comfortable display. In combination with the corresponding reference antenna, you can now determine exactly how good the DAB+ reception is.  This fast measurement type is practically an A/B comparison of two antennas and the evaluation of the "signal-to-noise-ratio", in short SNR.

The lower image shows an average value of 15.4 dB, which indicates the ratio of the useful power of the signal to the noise component in dB and should always be between 15 and 30 dB. For values below 10 dB, everything should be checked and analyzed! Especially in cars or other mobile vehicles, this additional tool on this interface is an important tool for achieving the best reception, for professional dealers, as well as for private consumers.

DENSION DAB+U in action

The digital radio stations are presented are MP3 files in the radio / navigation display and thus enable easy operation and broad compatibility. The station scan and settings are also displayed as virtual MP3 files. The control is quite simply done via the buttons of the radio / navigation system or, if available, also with the steering wheel remote control.

Since the buffer size can vary depending on the playback device, the interface has an automatic buffer size check ("ABSA" function).

The digital radio standards DAB, DAB+ and DMB-R are also supported.

With the DENSION Glovebox EXT2CP2 (not included / optionally available under Accessories) you can easily and conveniently continue to also use your USB port for storage media.

Simply flip the switch on the DENSION glovebox, the DAB+U interface is deactivated and the USB port on the glovebox is activated.

This allows you to play music from your USB stick or other USB storage device as usual. As in the previous version (DBU1GEN), this function isavailible an you can this tool normaly used.

DENSION DAB+U Installation

Simply connect the DENSION DAB+U Interface with the included USB cable to the original USB port(1) of the vehicle. The power supply of the device itself, is via the USB port and does not have to be installed separately.

The only accessory required is a DAB+ antenna for digital radio reception. Here you can choose between a passive or active antenna (incl. power supply). Simply connect the desired antenna to the SMB antenna connector (SMB) on the DENSION DAB+U, start the ignition and check the status LED (2) - done.

installation-tip: If the installation of the DAB antenna is too complicated for you, you can alternatively even use your existing radio antenna, of course only in conjunction with our DAB+ FM FM splitter (right at offer).

What is "ABSA"?
The DENSION DAB+U recognizes the buffer time required by the playback device to fully function. Depending on the playback device, the buffer time may vary between 15-40 seconds. So it is not possible to change the radio stations (virtual MP3s) as fast as you are used to with the radio stations in the FM band.
