This cut-off relay is recommended when a second or additional batteries are to be installed in the vehicle.
With the ignition, the second battery is switched on, thereby connecting the batteries disconnected with the engine off. So can stand for a lengthy time the batteries are not discharged each other.
If you switch off the engine, the vehicle voltage drops below 12.8V and the relay separates the starter battery from the second battery.
This system prevents discharge the starter battery and protects sensitive electronic equipment, which is connected to the secondary battery from voltage spikes that can occur when starting the engine.
