The DR970X Series is the flagship of the BlackVue dash cams with impressive 4K Ultra HD image quality and the usual reliable performance. Full HD quality with the STARVIS™ sensor in the interior camera - this gives you clear images of the driver and passengers day and night.
With the numerous cloud functions you get everything out of the dashcam possibilities. Your videos can easily be transferred to a smartphone, tablet or notebook via WLAN. The overall package is rounded off by intelligent design, such as the touch button. For even more convenient video management, there is the LTE module (CM100LTE, available separately).
The DR970X produces sharper 4K video than previous models. The difference is quite noticeable when looking at side-by-side shots. Dynamic range and overall image fidelity have been improved throughout with the optimization of the new chipset. Simply put, the image looks better, especially at night and in high-contrast scenes where most cameras struggle to get detail in highlights and dark areas.
The DR970X records super sharp 4K Ultra HD videos with 3840 x 2160 pixels in a 155° wide angle. This gives you optimal image quality day and night. The enormous difference between Full HD and Ultra HD: 4 times as many pixels and thus an extreme increase in detail, for example for license plates.
More resolution means bigger files...unless you use better compression methods.
High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC/H.265) is the standard for 4K video broadcasting and streaming. With HEVC you get great looking 4K videos but the same recording time as a regular Full HD dash cam.
The camera films the driver and passengers to monitor the interior. With the Sony STARVIS™ image sensor with infrared LEDs, you get impressive image clarity in Full HD day and night. The IR camera is connected to the front camera using a coax cable (1.5m).
Just connect to your dash cam without leaving the app. Turn on the dash cam and connect via the BlackVue app and follow the instructions.

Every BlackVue dashcam comes with an original BlackVue microSD card. We test our cards extensively before selecting them for inclusion in our products to ensure their performance is good and degrades as little as possible over time.
BlackVue Viewer (WINDOWS/MAC) is free to download and use. With it, you can easily change your BlackVue configuration settings and review recorded videos.
Videos are displayed here chronologically and by type (Normal/Event/Parking) so you can quickly identify and archive important footage. You can also export video segments, remove audio, or export screenshots.
With the BlackVue app, you can connect to your dash cam via WiFi to retrieve video on the spot.
In parking mode, the dash cam monitors your vehicle while you're away and records video when it detects movement or an impact. The connection cable for connecting to the vehicle battery is already included (additional power with separate battery packs possible).
The dash cam automatically switches to parking mode when the ignition is switched off. Voltage shutdown and timer can be set in the BlackVue app.
Log the speed and position of your videos
Speed: Speed data is overlaid on the video (can be turned off in settings). You can choose whether this should be displayed in Km/h or Mph.
Position: You can visualize the location of your vehicle on the BlackVue Viewer map during video playback.
Loop recording: The DR970X will record the oldest video files first when the microSD card is full, in a seamless loop.
Adaptive Format-Free Technology: Your BlackVue stores and organizes files on the microSD card in the most efficient way. This reduces the need to format the card and prevents file corruption even after multiple write cycles.
BlackVue dash cams are very easy to install. Attach the front unit to the windshield behind the rearview mirror using the supplied double-sided tape.
In this way, the dash cam is invisible to the driver's eye. Simply plug the power cords into your vehicle's cigarette lighter/accessory socket. Recording starts automatically as soon as you turn on the ignition. Once set up, it's easy to "forget" your dash cam, knowing it's recording reliably.
