DAB for clear and noise-free radio reception

In contrast to analogue VHF transmission, DAB (Digital Audio Broadcasting) is a process for the digital transmission of radio signals over a network of terrestrial radio transmitters. What is the difference between DAB + and DAB ?

DAB + is a further development of the DAB standard, so it takes over all of the functions of DAB , but offers additional advantages. The technical difference lies in the audio coding used, ie the two standards use different methods to prepare the data before and after transmission. While DAB with MPEG-1 Audio Layer 2, DAB + MPEG-4 HE-AAC v2 uses DAB currently the most efficient audio compression in the world.
