The LC2i, is a compact, two-channel processor with active input circuitry, which allows it to accept speaker-level signals of up to 400 watts per channel from factory-installed source units or amplifiers. It converts them to high-quality pre-amp signals that can then be directed to after-market processors and/or amplifiers. Users can enjoy maximum sound quality while maintaining the use of factory volume and steering wheel controls.
Who will like the LC2i?
Anyone who does not want to give up their factory dash controls but wants great
sound. Car makers these days are incorporating all sorts of convenience features into
the factory head units that consumers do not want to give up. In addition, they are making
the head unit a more integral part of the dash, even
integrating heater/AC, and other control functions, into
the sound systems. The LC2i allows that customer to
improve the sound system without disturbing any of
the factory features and functions.
Adding aftermarket amplifiers and subwoofers
to factory source units becomes simple. The LC2i goes after the factory amplifier, so it
can be added to any factory system. With
AudioControl’s Active Balanced inputs,
you’ll get much better bass signal than with
passive converters.
Factory system with bass roll-off. Factory
systems can not safely produce the bass levels that
most customers want. To protect their speakers, more and
more car makers are removing the bass frequencies at higher
volume levels. The AccuBASSTM EQ in the LC2i corrects this roll-off so you
get full bass at all volumes.
Why do AudioControl Line Output Adapters sound so good?
Passive LOCs have been used for years yet they add distortion, reduce signal and
roll off bass. In short…they sound bad!
AudioControl’s Active, High Impedance Inputs you’re in a whole different
world. AudioControl’s input stage results in a ruler-flat frequency response so you get rock solid bass
without the signal roll-off you get with those passive LOCs. The AudioControl LC2i is also a super low
distortion (typically <.01%) 9,5-volt line driver as well as a line converter. You now have sound quality
every bit as good as with an after market head unit while keeping the convenience and cosmetic
features of the factory installed source unit. In short, the LC2i gives you the brilliant sound quality that
AudioControl has been providing for over 33 years. Combine this with the AccuBASS™ equalization
discussed below and you have mind-bending performance from a factory head unit.

Setting the AccuBASS® Bass Compensation
No need to look
for a trigger wire.
The LC2i turns on all by itself. Just
hook up the speaker level inputs
and as soon as you turn on the
factory audio system the LC2i
will power up as well. After
the LC2i turns itself on, it
provides a 12 volt trigger
output to turn on your
amplifier.
A Jumper
which you
can reach from the end panel allows you to set this
feature on/off for specialized installations. The factory
default setting for the GTOTM circuit is always ON.
GTOTM circuit ("Great Turn On")
The GTO or “Great Turn On” circuit automatically turns the unit on whenever it senses a signal on the channel 1 audio input. It enables the user to not have to run a remote trigger to the unit to turn the system on. You can still use the remote out on the unit when using the GTO.
Placement And Mounting of Optional Dash Remote (Optional)
The dash
control may be mounted under the dash
using its own bracket or through
a custom hole in the dash.
It should be within
reach of the driver and
in a spot where the
LED is plainly
visible.
FAQ
Does the LC2i require power?
Yes, the LC2i is an active line output converter and should be connected to the battery for constant 12 V and to your common ground for after market amps and processors.
Do I need to find a remote turn on lead?
No, the LC2i has GTO Signal Sensing, which will turn the unit on when it detects signal at the input from your factory amp/powered head unit.
